Design System

Beacon Digital is a digital consultancy specialising in transformation strategy for mid-market businesses navigating complex technology decisions. Their client results were outstanding. Their team was world-class. And their website looked like it had been built in an afternoon by someone who had never heard of them.

They came to Flexis not just for a redesign, but for a complete rethink of how they presented themselves online. Clearer positioning, better structure, and a visual identity that communicated the sophistication of the firm without alienating the non-technical decision-makers they most needed to reach.

THE CHALLENGE

Consultancy websites face a specific credibility problem: the work is largely confidential, the results are often hard to quantify publicly, and the product being sold is fundamentally intangible. You can't show a consultancy project the way you can show a brand identity or a Framer build. You have to make people feel confidence through other means.

Beacon's work is genuinely complex. But their ideal clients, CEOs and operations leads at mid-market companies, are not technologists. The website needed to communicate depth of expertise in language that felt accessible and human, not academic and intimidating.

Most of Beacon's best work was confidential. We couldn't rely on detailed case studies to build credibility. We had to find other ways, team depth, process transparency, and the quality of the writing and design itself.

Beacon's old website was generating enquiries, but mostly from companies too small or too early-stage to be a good fit. The new site needed to attract mid-market decision-makers specifically, which required a clear signal in the positioning about who Beacon works with and who they don't.

OUR APPROACH

We began with a positioning workshop focused on a single question: who is Beacon's ideal client, and what do they need to feel when they land on the website? The answer shaped everything, a mid-market operations lead who is sophisticated enough to know they need help, experienced enough to be skeptical of consultancies, and busy enough to need clarity fast.

The sitemap we built was deliberately simple, four pages, clear hierarchy, no bloat. Every page was structured around the reader's journey rather than Beacon's internal organisation. What do you do? Who do you do it for? Why should I trust you? How do I start?

The visual direction was precise and warm, authoritative without being cold, approachable without being casual. A typographic-led design with a restrained use of color and a clear hierarchy that made every page easy to scan and rewarding to read.
