Northlight Ventures is a venture capital firm with a clear thesis and a strong track record of backing founder-led companies at the right moment. Their portfolio spoke for itself. Their website didn't. Outdated, generic, and failing to communicate the firm's distinct point of view, it was actively working against their ability to attract the calibre of deal flow they deserved.
They came to Flexis with a single goal: build a digital presence that reflects the quality of the firm behind it and positions Northlight as the first call a founder makes when they're ready to raise.

THE CHALLENGE
VC firm websites face a unique design challenge. They need to communicate authority and credibility without feeling cold or inaccessible. They need to attract ambitious founders while simultaneously reassuring LPs. And they need to do all of that with minimal copy, because the audience is busy, skeptical, and allergic to anything that feels like marketing.
Northlight needed to communicate confidence and track record without coming across as untouchable. Founders need to believe a VC firm will back them, not intimidate them.
Most VC websites are vague about what they actually invest in and why. Northlight had a clear, differentiated thesis, but their website buried it in generic language about "partnering with exceptional founders."
The partners at Northlight are their biggest differentiator. Their experience, their networks, their way of working with founders, none of that was coming through on the old site.

OUR APPROACH
We started with a full positioning workshop with the Northlight partners. The goal was to surface the one thing Northlight could own in the market, the single most compelling reason a founder would choose them over any other firm writing cheques at the same stage.
The answer: conviction over consensus. Northlight backs founders other firms pass on, because they do the work to understand what others miss. That became the strategic backbone of the entire website.
From there we restructured the sitemap around the three audiences the site needed to serve: founders evaluating a raise, portfolio companies looking for resources, and LPs considering a commitment. Each journey was mapped and optimised separately before a single design element was introduced.
The visual direction we landed on was authoritative, warm, and precise, clean typography, a restrained color palette, and considered use of white space that communicated confidence without coldness. The partner profiles were rebuilt from the ground up to feel human and specific rather than corporate and generic.
